Font size

Putting tuning Kits to chevrolet camaro spyder 2011 always take advantage of the muscle car coupe's form, but Revolution Styling PR has gone a different route by capitalizing on the convertible version of this hot ride. With extensive modifications, including their own patent pending forward tilt hood, the tuning company has developed the world’s first Turbocharged Camaro Spyder. The model will be based on the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro and will be limited to 20 units per year. The price for the conversion will range from $50,000 to $80,000 and will be sold at Chevrolet dealers starting in June 2011.
The first unit of the Camaro Spyder was revealed at the 2011 Camaro5 event in Chandler, Arizona. It featured a Surprised smile 610-hp /6.2-liter eight-cylinder turbo engine and was painted in red jewel metallic exterior with piano black rally stripes and a reverse opening hood. The patent pending forward tilt hood is combined with LED lighting for a more high end look. A birth certificate and additional window sticker is produced for each special production car as well.

Exterior and Interior

The Camaro Spyder features a Revolution Brand Ram air hood, a front chin spoiler with a cosmetic air inlet, large ACS composite air inlets for optimal cooling of brakes, intercoolers and radiators, a front chin, GMpp Rocker panel replacements, and a rear deck spoiler. Customers can also opt for vented front fenders, a rear diffuser with center exit exhaust, and some grille-work. The car will sit on four multi-piece USW Forged light-alloy wheels that are 21-inch in diameter. On the interior, the Camaro Spyder adds soft Italian leather and perforated alcantara offered in any color option imaginable. Embroidered floor mats and headrests are also added as a personal touch, along with the interior package the customer so chooses. The tuned-up Camaro will also be offered with LED halo-ring headlamps, Bluetooth connectivity, rear parking assist, and a 245-watt, Boston Acoustics sound system.

Engine

Under the hood, Revolution Styling has placed a 6.2-liter eight-cylinder turbo engine with an output of 610 HP and 578 lb-ft. The tuner announced a 0 to 60 mph sprint time of 4 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph. The engine benefits from a 76mm large Turbonetics unit, more efficient intercoolers, and Magnaflow stainless-steel high-performance exhaust with four tailpipes. In order for the drop top beast to handle all of that added power, the tuner has also added a new suspension, a better coil spring rate, maximum damper sway bars, and Brembo four-piston calipers with hydraulic brake assist.

Prices

Revolution Styling PR will build only 20 units a year and prices for the conversion will range from $50,000 to $80,000.

Competition

This might be the first Spyder version of the Chevrolet Camaro, but it’s definitely not the first tuning package based on the muscle car. Baldwin Motion worked on their version, called the "Fantastic Five," which consists of five different upgrade levels with power ranging from 525 to 800 HP. Lingenfelter is also offering an impressive package for the muscle car. Their package is offered with a 7.0-liter V8 engine with twin GT30R turbochargers that develops 800 HP. Obviously, both of these packages offer a much higher power output than Revolution Styling, but their package has the benefit of being added to a convertible version of the Camaro. That in itself is a huge bonus.
